Unlike books, newspapers and magazines; a CD or music album can use a normal retail barcode, just like any product you might buy in a grocery or general store. This is because unlike paper publications; a musical album does not need to be registered through a National Library.
So the good news is the process is simple! All you need to do is purchase a barcode for the album; and we will send you the high-resolution images of the barcode. You then pass these on to whomever is doing the cover artwork for your CD and they simply include it on the back cover.
When you take your CD’s into a music shop such as Look ‘n Listen, Musica or similar, they will scan the barcode in and capture all the details of the album as well as set a price that the eventual buyer will be charged for the CD.
