So, what do you need for your products?
The most commonly used barcodes in retail stores are UPC and EAN barcodes. You’ll require this kind of barcodes for Mozambique in order to sell your products – local agricultural produce such as sugar, prawns and shrimps, and any other food items; clothing items; appliances; CDs and DVDs; etc. – at stores. This specific format of barcode is called an ITF-14 barcode and is used in the warehousing division. It is a 14 digit barcode that is linked and corresponds to the product barcode of the products packed into the cartons. The receiving staff will scan this barcode into the stores stock system upon arrival and this will automatically update the stores stock totals. It is vitally important that you stick to using the correct ITF-14 barcode for the correct carton, for example if you have a carton with 6 products in then it gets assigned a barcode and if you have another carton with 12 products in it gets a different ITF-14 barcode so that the store can load it appropriately and when these codes are scanned they know exactly how many products are in the box without having to manually count and check stock.
