Barcode Mauritius

mauritius flag

Our company is based in Cape Town, South Africa; however due to the nature of our business and our efficiency in the online market, we are able to assist customers and sell barcodes to them regardless of where they are based – and this includes customers from Mauritius. Our system of providing customers with their barcodes is simple with regards to communication, payments, and of course, the delivery of our fully GS1-registered barcodes to you.

With so much information available on the internet, it’s easy to become confused and frustrated about what exactly you require for your business with regards to barcoding. Our staff are standing by to assist you via email or phone call as well as answer any questions you may have about acquiring barcodes for your business. We seek not only to provide our customers with excellent customer service, but to educate them on the barcoding industry and leave them with a sense of satisfaction, know-how, and plans for their next steps before making a purchase from us.

Types of barcodes

Food items, clothing, appliances, CDs or any retail goods will need a UPC or EAN barcode in order to get into stores. The UPC (Universal Product Code) is the older, 12-digit version of the barcode. Whereas the EAN (European Article Number) is the later, 13-digit version of the barcode. It is ultimately up to your intended retailer on which format you use as you will be registered onto their independent systems. And therefore, we recommend that you check with them beforehand. SA Barcodes does however provide you with both versions for your convenience.

Publications on the other hand, usually require a different barcode format. These numbers are sourced from the National Library of Mauritius, and we at SA Barcodes offer the service of sourcing the numbers for you as well as designing the corresponding barcode images. Books, novels and once-off publications require what is called an ISBN (International Standard Book Number). Whereas newspapers, magazines and serial publications require an ISSN (International Standard Serial Number).

SA Barcodes is able to provide our customers with barcodes at an affordable, once-off price. And what’s more, once you have purchased the barcodes, they belong to you for life. You’ll never have to worry about heavy paperwork, annual fees or long waits as we endeavour to be the solution for small businesses who would otherwise have been excluded from the market due to heavy costs when leasing barcodes. And we guarantee that you’ll promptly receive a conveniently zipped barcode pack within one working day of receiving your proof payment.

Just to let you in on how simple the process of buying barcodes is at SA Barcodes, all we basically need from you is your company name as well as confirmation that you have read and accepted our terms and conditions. A conveniently packaged zipped folder is then delivered to your email upon receiving proof of payment, and it contains everything necessary to get your products into store:

  • The barcode numbers
  • High resolution corresponding images
  • PDF and Excel spreadsheets of the numbers for easy reference
  • A certificate of registration
  • A sizing template to help with printing and scaling
  • A copy of your purchase invoice
  • A copy of the terms and conditions

We understand that there are a number of pop up businesses claiming to sell legitimate barcodes; however we endeavour to instil trust in our business partnerships beforehand, and we invite you to browse through our customer testimonial page, too. Our barcode numbers are fully registered with the official international barcode number provider, GS1. We guarantee that our numbers are completely unique, authentic, and recognised at the majority of retail stores in Mauritius and across the rest of the world.
