Do I need a barcode?

If you are looking to sell your products at any retail store (be it physical or online), then yes, you do need a barcode.

do i need a barcode

Depending on what product you’ve created and are now looking to sell, you may need a different type of barcode. For retails products such as food items or even CDs, a UPC or EAN barcode will be need. For novels or once off publications, an ISSN barcode.

All of the above mentioned we offer many other services to cater for your barcoding needs too.

Before purchasing your barcode, always ensure that your intended retailer will be able to accept your barcode onto their product registration system. Some larger retailers such as Pick ‘n Pay have implemented a new barcode system and therefore may not be willing to accept your product, particularly if it is a food item.

However, keep in mind that SA Barcodes is the country’s top barcode reseller and our barcodes are accepted at more retail stores in South Africa than any other barcode reseller world-wide. Once purchasing a barcode from SA Barcodes, the barcode belongs to you and your company for life and we only charge a once-off price.
